FADE OUT CACTUS

The FADE OUT CACTUS is the result of an experimental test series with perforated plates. Contrary to usual metal sheets, the cutting edge of perforated ones has a spiky contour which was a first impulse to create this object.

By assembling the six at laser cutted elements it arises a three-dimensional cactus which character varies with the viewer‘s position. Depending on the angle of vision, the surfaces fade between a semi-transparent to an apparently closed shape. Further the imposing moire effect can also be perceived by direct front view when two patterns superimpose. Thus, it constantly keeps offering new and fascinating impressions.
